A Protective School provides all members of the school community the opportunity to achieve their full potential, while reducing the risk factors for drug abuse, dropping out, academic failure, discipline problems, violence, self-harm, and suicide.

The Protective Schools Model draws on current research on connectedness and resiliency to provide educators with a practical approach to creating and maintaining positive school environments. On this site you can download a copy of the Protective Schools Handbook, use online training modules, preview the Protective Schools Assessment, and view 2008 School Culture Conference multimedia resources
